" The Awakening"
Oh Yea ! Sunshine and south winds greeted me this morning and it stirred up that edgy feeling of Spring in me. You know the feeling –like your in a hurry – like Wow, was the sun this bright last year?- like its time for change, for new, for excitement ! I know most everyone assumes I'm that way all the time, and maybe I am a little more than most. But Spring awakens in me the sense of excitement like nothing else. I don't know why but I don't need to know why. All I need to know is I like it, I need it ! I just know it makes me nuts and in Cha' Tullis land "Nuts" is good. I get tons of stuff done or at least started. This is the time my mind starts selecting which plants will fill my flower beds, what big yard project I'll drag my family thru this year! But for me more than any "one" project this Spring thing is a vital part of the visionary and dreamer inside of me. I need the spark of Spring to light that fuse of creativity that is Cha' Tullis. No I don't sit around hibernating all winter, I'm active creatively all year. But Spring has a newness about it that pushes me to shed the old, to try the new, to take a chance, to color outside the lines. Each season is an important part of the years journey and for me Spring has become the most awakening. I can't wait to see what my paintings and sculptures will be this year and the new season has led me to complete a new painting titled "The Storm Within". For me the word storm has the same meaning as the word Spring. This painting is full of excitement and energy and surprise. That's what I hope and wish everyone gets out of this season of Spring. We need it! We deserve it! And its ours! All you have to do is recognize it for what it is and accept it as the gift God intended it to be. Make this Spring your awakening ! Color outside the lines !
