"All Fluffed Up"

You know that snow is just rain that’s fluffed up. Yea kind of like your pillow in the middle of the night when you need to be a little more comfortable so you fluff it up. It’s still your pillow but now it’s fluffed and it makes you feel better. Well we just had a big 16 inches of snow, we needed the moisture but everyone was complaining about the snow. I like snow, not for a long period of time but as long as I can remember snow makes me quicker. Yea for me snow kind of speeds up the laziness of winter, I rush everywhere and of course I’m spell bound by the beauty.

I listened to complaint after complaint the other day but watched with curiosity as more people than normal were out in it. The grocery store parking lot was packed and at the post office people were busy leaving and picking up mail as they shared conversations of snow measurements of past. If truth be known I’m sure all those people out that day had food in their cabinets and I bet that most of the post office business could of waited a day or two. No, I think all those people that were out in the "mess" that day secretly needed their winter laziness "fluffed up"!

We all need to feel "Fluffed up" once in a while and it doesn’t always have to be a snow. Sometimes it’s a new outfit or a new pair of shoes, possibly a vacation will do it or a new hair-style. Could be a flirtation from a good looking stranger or a hug from one of your kids. It’s different for every one but it has awesome power and can make us all feel better about ourselves.

On top of the snow this week I got "fluffed up" by something that I had forgotten could "fluff" you up. I’ve been driving the same (1986) truck for many, many long years and as the years have passed and the needs of our family grew I couldn’t justify a newer vehicle for me.

This week I got a new (97) Ford Expedition and as I sat behind the wheel I was reminded of my younger years. A new vehicle can make you feel younger, braver, handsome, rich and on top of the world. I must confess it was ONLY possible because of the extraordinary trust and generosity of two very special friends of ours.

The "Fluff" wasn’t the new vehicle and I know most of you thought it was, no the "fluff" is the fact that someone else thought enough about me to bless me with "trust" and gift me with "love". Thank you Jim & Penny for "fluffing" me up!
