GRANDMOTHER'S HUMMINGBIRDS

Hummingbird had flown into her path and it could only be a sign that Grandmother had decided to help. The story as it was told to me is that two Grandmothers make the decision that their grandchildren would be a good match as a couple. Together they capture a hummingbird and gently take two tail feathers, then it is set free to gather the sweet nectar of a good life. Secretly they sew the feathers into the clothing of the young grandson and granddaughter as they ask Creator to bring these two together as one. The feathers eventually pull the two together and love is found, the people are pleased that a wonderful and joyful ceremony will be celebrated by all. The Grandmothers quietly smile while acting surprised as the grandchildren announce the news.
